COUNTER MILLING

Milling can be defined as a process performed by removing chips with cutting tools called milling cutters, which have many cutting edges and rotate around their own axis. Many different processes can be performed on the benches used for this purpose. However, with a general distinction, milling operations can be divided into two groups.

Circumferential milling: In this type of milling, plane or certain shaped surfaces are processed with the teeth around the milling cutter. The machined surface is parallel to the linear jaws or axis of the milling cutter. Here, roll, shaft and form milling cutters are used.

Face milling: In this type of milling, the surface to be processed is processed with the teeth on the milling face and the axis of the milling cutter is perpendicular to the processed surface. In addition, according to the work capacity of the machine and the feature of the milling machine; Milling operations such as simple milling, serial milling, alternative milling and rotary milling can be named.
